Honor

It‘s a tragedy of sorts when I look into your puppy eyes I know I‘m meant to think this is inappropriate But I feel as though it‘s an honor that you recognize me And turn around to give you the cold shoulder in an effort to make it stop On one hand, I wish you would disappear into an abyss and take all the mixed feelings, set me free But I feel as though it‘s an honor that you recognize me I live through another day behind the counter in an effort to make it stop On the other hand, it is you who stares into my eyes And I‘m wondering who started the masquerade But I feel as though it‘s an honor that you recognize me And I don‘t really want it to end either so I don‘t make an effort to make it stop I‘m wondering what is going to happen with us It is inevitable that one of us has to leave But I feel as though it‘s an honor that you recognize me I wish you all the best for your life with her I will leave in an effort to make it stop

Midsummer Moments

You remind me of crickets on a hot summer night the only sound that can be heard for miles the air is ripe and the smell of hay lingers in this moment, when it‘s just you and me Running my fingers through your hair just feels right We don‘t need to share any words, our smiles are enough to know we‘re no longer strangers in this moment, when it‘s just you and me Orange turns to dark blue, your shadow in the moonlight We‘re stargazing and fantasizing about our lives We‘ve dreamed of this since we were teenagers in this moment, we start our eternity
